The Stafford Family Cemetery a.k.a. Stafford Cemetery, Stafford Hill Cemetery, and Stafford-Wood Cemetery, is located on the Butler Road on the South (Town of Plattsburgh, NY) side of the road. The Cemetery is the final resting place of Veterans from every conflict, including Revolutionary War veterans, and Veterans of the decisive Battle of Plattsburgh, which occurred during the War of 1812 on September 11, 1814.
The Cemetery business structure is LLC, and has been managed for the last seven decades by the Wood Family, currently under management by Cynthia Kimmel née Wood and her husband David. Cynthia is a great-granddaughter of the Cemetery’s namesake, as well as another of the older internees, Paul Vandevoort, also a Revolutionary War Veteran. She was first drafted into cemetery duty as a small child, even younger than several of her own grandchildren are now!
There is no U.S. Mail delivery available onsite, nor are there any buildings for common business activities. These are conducted at our business headquarters physical location (as required by law) which is listed in our Articles of Incorporation as 15 Duke Ave., Cadyville, NY 12918.
